I've been sick for 30 years with fatigue and horrible balance and a host of other nasty symptoms. I've been to lots of doctors and heard all the usual useless advice but nothing has helped me. However every time I get my blood work done it shows I am anemic but none of the doctors I have ever seen has said anything about it except that I'm anemic and hand me some folic acid tablets. I'm not going to go into all the creepy things that have happened to me because of this but all of a sudden I started looking up anemia online. Have all my health problems been because of pernicious anemia? My mother was always anemic and walking around feeling tired all the time plus she was nervous and had bouts of diarrhea with weakness in her legs. I'm not going to go into how I feel about the medical profession because I'm sure it's against the rules to use profanity. Glad I found this website.

I might have Pernicious anemia
Hi Judybooty I'm sorry to read how unwell you are feeling.
Do you know whether you have ever been tested for a Vitamin B12 deficiency?
Are you able to post your latest blood test results together with the ranges (from - to)?
I'm not a medically trained person but there are others on here who will be able to give you advice.
There is a bit of a confusion between Iron Anaemia and Pernicious Anaemia so please come back with more details.
can truly relate to your feelings about the medical profession.
If you have been given folic acid rather than iron then it sounds like you have macrocytic anaemia. Low folate levels will cause this as will low B12.
Do you have copies of any of the blood tests that have been done?
There has been times when I have been to or spoken to doctors and felt nothing short of a scorned child, to be told on a number of occasions you shouldn't feel like the way I do and I'm just being lazy, I'm so angry the doctors can treat us like this
