I don't know - but I am also very interested - would seem from what I heard from conference talks that they last longer and are slow release because the B12 is in oil.
From the article that Dr Rietsema was referring to (a case study, so based on one person, but with the drug-info from the Danish promedicin):

At the conference I asked what was meant by 'depot' form of B12, which was mentioned by one of the speakers. Unfortunately, I can't remember the reply and didn't write it down as I thought I would remember (foolish).
Googling 'Depot' form of B12, which is the one I get from Germany, one of the results was an article which included:
"When the vitamin was given in depot form its retention was increased two or three times but the clinical effect of these
preparations does not seem to have been investigated"
........ taken from 'sciencedirect.com/science/a....
I looked on the leaflet (in German) in my box of 'depot' ampoules but, after google translation of the German, I think it says 'Water for injection solution'.
I came away from the conference with the impression that B12 in 'oil' was slow release - very possibly I am wrong. There was so much information given that day. I am waiting for the videos to be uploaded but I know it may be a while as all done by volunteers (many thanks to the volunteers).
