Have you had your thyroid function tested? Also, how long have you been getting treatment for your low B12?

I have had my thyroid tested, plus 4 years. Plus my b12 levels have risen to 348. And Gp took me off my tablets.

The tablets your GP stopped were for B12, is that right? It sounds to me as though you need more 348 isn't a very high level. Why has he stopped them? Are you vegetarian or vegan?

Yes b12 tablets. And no I ain't vegan or vegetarian. Got a diverticulier disease throughout my colon and I don't eat gluten and wheat and I'm dairy free.

Is there a way you can afford to buy them yourself, and continue treatment.

If you have diverticulitis that may well be the reason your levels have dropped. It's also possible that you are low in other vitamins too. Has your VitD level ever been checked?

I had a lot of infections before my low B12 was diagnosed. I am on regular injections to boost my levels. I've found I get less infections since I began treatment.

You could go back to your doctor and ask them to continue to prescribe the B12 tablets. It is a vitamin that we need in every area of our body, any excess is passed out in our urine. Also, only 20% of what is circulating in our blood will get to cell level.

I hope you will soon feel better.

Thank you so much. Take care

I had a lot of "cold and chest infections" but eventually found them to be allergic reactions and all due to dust from all sorts of sources. I suspect it had something to do with B12 deficiency . Unfortunately I was unaware of this forum then. If I could replay I would have a very comprehensive thyroid and vitamin/FBC check including the antibodies.
