If you have Pernicious Anaemia then there's no point in getting tested for B12 as the treatment is for life. As long as your current treatment regimen keeps you feeling OK then all is good.

Hi pernic I was diagnosed with P.A. in 1972 and had my first ever since Serum B12 & Folate tests after 44 years taken in March at my request as I was trying to persuade my doctor for me to have my injections more frequently.

VITAMIN B12 (SZ1706)Normal no action469pg/ml187.00 – 883.00pg/ml

B12 Comment - B12 in normal range

Despite the above reading being "Normal", she accepted the list of symptoms that I presented in the run up to the next injection and increased the frequency of cyanocobalamin (which I've been on since the start) from every four weeks to every three weeks.

There is life after P.A. as I'm still "clivealive" aged 75.
