I haven't heard of yeast overload with B12 injections . But we do hear of some people having spots and skin problems , which usually resolve.

I haven't heard of that either but you can get B vitamins from yeast, eg brewers yeast, perhaps that is what your daughter is thinking of.

I have rosacea and B12 hasn't helped. Hasn't made it worse, though.

From a quick search it looks as if there is a lot of speculation about B vitamins causing candida present in the gut to erupt into other parts of the body but doesn't seem to be a lot of proof - B6 got pointed at in one article - and use of B vitamins is also recommended for treating yeast infections ....

B12 can cause problems with acne - one possibility is bacteria that are naturally present on your skin reacting to the excess B12 by producing toxins that your skin is reacting to - this usually happens in people who have had problems with acne in the past.

Another possibility is that your immune system is over-reacting / kicking back in. Many of the things we associate with being ill are actually signs that the body is fighting an infection... in which case it should subside once whatever has been dealt with.

Suggest you actually ask your daughter for a reference/references and then check what scientific studies they are referring back to.

Hi Again, That all makes sense and do think it might be related to the healing process ..? My body has struggled for many years and now it is healing (slowly) it probably doesn't know what's hit it ..?

I do think the eczema type rash is calming down and I am taking Caprylic Acid capsules which are supposed to help plus oil of oregano ..? (Researched on eczema sites) Also Sorrion cream is very good and aloe vera!

Funny thing because I get very red and itchy and then little white bumps appear under my skin ..almost like fatty balls. (Ugh) The back of my hands and ankles plus chin, eyelids and forehead so something is wanting out?

Think daughter was just guessing as to too much B Vit as she knows as Frodo suggested that you can get it from food sources etc.

I am pretty sure the injections are doing me more good than anything and this is just a small price to pay for a short time hopefully. Thanks for Advice ...It is much appreciated!

Hi ...Yes I got thrush before the itchy skin rash! Hopefully it will all calm down as I have never had eczema before....? May be a strange part of the healing like Gambit suggested!

I had trouble with acne when I first started self-injecting frequently. It gradually subsided. Like others here, I think this may be an immune response.

Hopefully it is for me a bit but the Itching made me think it was healing ..? Still look pretty grim though ...Think I am fermenting! x

Eczema can be a symptom of coeliac disease, try going gluten free and see if that helps,my husbands coeliac was picked up due to eczema and anaemia......

I am having a similar experience. I have been having vitamin b12 tablets for past 1 month. Now I have yeast infection down there. I have never had it so far. I came across this post when I was trying to find out causes of fungal infection. This hypotheses of b12 building up yeast looks like a possible explanation in my case because other causes are not applicable. Will check my blood sugar levels, but they were normal. I had iron deficiency also along with vitamin b12. Thyroid doesn't seem to be a problem. Other causes are not applicable in my case.
