That link brings up a 404 page not found error, but I can see that it is supposed to link to the BD 29g 12.7mm insulin combined needle and syringe. Those are far too short for intramuscular injections into the thigh except possibly for someone who is thin to the point of emaciation. The normal recommendation for intramuscular injections is a needle length of at least 1 inch (25mm).

This is a useful guide to needle length:

This is the link I was given with my b12 as a recommend method. I'm not skinny but not overweight either. It seems to work for me.

It may be working but with a needle that short you will almost certainly be doing subcutaneous injections not intramuscular. The needle has to be long enough not just to reach the muscle but to get deep into it.

I have 2 other needles which I bought first as I initially thought I was going to have to draw up with one then change to another. They were recommended on here. When I received my b12 the instructions where for the fixed microfine ones so I was using them.

If I change to the first lot I bought which would make sure I reach the muscle, the 21Gx1 1/2" (0.8x40mm) or 23Gx 1 1/4" (0.6x32mm) is the 21G for drawing up?

Sorry to ask but I'm confused! I have always thought injecting IM is more effective than sub cut?

I might have a go with these today as I need an injection. They look much thicker though! Thank you. :-)
