I'm self injecting Hydroxo two/three times per week and taking B complex, folate, vit D and iron daily. I'm going to sleep at 12 midnight and waking 10.30 the next morning still tierd! Can anyone advise what would help as I feel I'm going backwards. TIA

Sorry, but can I ask, where are you getting your injections from? Maybe the dose is too low, even though it's twice a week.

I order them from Amazon Germany 1mg/1ml

Hiya Tab100!

I only wish I COULD sleep! Soooo envious of you!

Not to sound daft but, have you tried sleeping in the day too?

Having a nap?

Have you been tested for other causes - hypothyroidism or diabetes spring to mind?

Yes all came back good.

Hi. When you say they came back good, what do you mean? Doctors don't know enough about the thyroid and usually results are misinterpreted by the gp. If you have your results I would post them on the thyroid uk forum, with the ranges (in brackets) and they will say if they are good or not. Your thyroid test should be the tsh, t4, t3, and total t4. Most doctors onky do the tsh, t4 if you are very lucky. However, they do not give you the true function of your thyroid.

Hi TAB100 - if your have PA then it is possible to have auto-immune thyroiditis - Hashimotos.  It is the most common thyroid disorder throughout the world.  So if your anti-bodies - Anti-TPO and Anti-Tg were not tested - then how would your GP know your thyroid is OK ?

I was diagnosed with in range TSH - FT4 - FT3 - but VERY high anti-bodies.  When GP's say good or normal - they mean in range - forgetting that where you are in the range is important.

Even post them here! We all know enough about the test results.

I ALWAYS ask for copies of my bloods. Which of course you can too. It's your right TAB100

You can ask for complete blood test history.

Which I have too.

It's always handy to have. Interestingly, I have now found out by reading back. There are particular bits.. I.e. ABNORMAL.. Red bloods... Abnormal on 4 occasions... Haematocrit. Abnormal 5 times. So on grrr. For  years which have had nothing done! I am seeing a Neurologist soon so I will be asking them.

Can't help - but I'm the same. I see you're taking iron - maybe low iron is our common factor.

in reply toLaura5

Be careful with iron supplements, - they can cause constipation and aggravate some conditions, especially in the case of kidney problems.

Unfortunately low iron reduces the amount of oxygen in the blood which is not good. It is important to get an iron deficiency treated - but obviously you should always do this in consultation with a doctor.

I'll ask for a copy of my full blood count and post it on here. Thanks for all your helpful responses 💛
