B12 supplementing and vivid dreams
I have vivid dreams as one of my symptoms but I think it occurs towards the end of a cycle before I need my next injection. However it may occur because I sleep on my injection site towards the end of the cycle. I am restless too.
I've not correlated it to too much / or just after an injection / so far.
How much folic acid are you taking? I've tried to increase folic acid from 3.2 mg to 4.8 mg by taking 2 more 800 mcg tablets, but I'm not certain it has done anything to stop the dreams.
I've not really tried to stop the dreams. I find them an interesting symptom.
I have slept in the guest room for a cold. My wife is a restless sleeper also so maybe I am disturbing her sleep.
That is SO interesting - I too am having vivid dreams - on holiday my daughter woke me several times saying I was waving my arms around. All this is new to me, but I have found that a side effect of pregaberlin which I take for neuro pain is nightmares> oh dear.
i know that gabapentin and pregabalin can affect serotonin levels. Many, many years ago I was on a human trial for paroxetine (seroxat) which also affects serotonin. When I stopped taking it I had very, very vivid dreams.
A few months after my study a friend went on another one. I met her in the corridor and asked her is she'd had any interesting dreams. She blushed the deepest red and ran into the ladies! I never did find out exactly what that particular dream was about.
B12 does play a part in regulating sleep so it may be that is a part of it. It may be something that settles down after a while.
Are you using methylcobalamin? might be worth trying another form of B12 to see if it makes a difference.
I'll ask the cat....! 😁
I've suspected that is the case for me but wondered if I was just being less brain dead so was just more aware and more able to remember. Interesting.
This is interesting hearing everyone's tales. I've always remembered dreams and been a fairly animated sleeper - stories from my parents when I was young of talking in my sleep and from partners, but this hasn't been the case for a fair few years. I've been tired and always wake up really tired and couldn't remember dreaming. The opposite now; waking up before my alarm, not waking knackered etc. To me, it's a nice effect - makes me feel like I'm getting back to my old self, even if just placebo! However my partner disagrees... I am on methylcobalamin but notice that it's worse if I apply a patch before bed, so now only do it in the mornings. If it gets worse I may have to consider switching
Seems it's not just B12.
In "The Miraculous Effects of Extremely High Doses of Vitamin D3 and K2..." by Jeff Bowles, he mentions that many people reported having frequent vivid dreams of past friends. My daughter and I had already started high dose D3 and discussed this phenomenon before reading the passage in the book!
Strangely, I've been been having these vivid dreams again since I began supplementing with magnesium three weeks ago.
I'm wondering whether these supplements heal the psyche? The fact that they all help with depression might suggest they do, so is maybe a good thing Stevie ?
