B Complex supplements.

Hi all.  I wondered if anyone could help me. I am injecting three times a week and read that I should take a high B complex supplement. I bought Jarrows B-Right off Amazon and it arrived today. However, I am now concerned that I have bought the correct one and if the levels in it are too high.  I take 400mcg folate daily but nothing else.

 Many thanks for your help.

looking at the contents- and going from the B6 content - I would advise that you don't try more than 4 tablets in a day.

It contains a mix of vitamins - including folic acid and B12 in methylated forms.

You can't overdose on B12 and the main concern for having a daily upper limit for folic acid is around interactions with B12 and reducing the impact of macrocytosis - a potential warning of B12 deficiency.

However, some people do have problems with methylated forms of folic acid and B12 so worth trying those slowly unless you have used methylated forms of folic acid and B12 before.

I'm not that sure on B5 so you might want to check on that

It is a good product with good bio-availability.

The only reason I didn't buy it was because my body needs a full range of vitamins and minerals and so have stuck with a simple A-Z multivitamin and mineral supplement (the best one I've found is from Tesco's!) which gives me everything, including the B vitamins, and I can take 2 a day to supply everything without overdoing anything too much!

Make sure you get everything else you need as well as the B vitamins.

It's really confusing isn't it. I am so afraid of taking too much of one thing and not enough of another.

As in everything else. Do you mean via a healthy balanced diet?

Tell me about it!! 😁

I meant all the other vitamins D3, K, C, E, A etc and minerals - potassium, magnesium, iron, selenium, etc, etc.  All the things that you will find in a broad spectrum A - Z multivitamin and mineral supplement!

Because they have been designed to be balanced and supply all the body's needs they are a good place to start, with extras possibly needed by individuals with specific requirements.  For instance I then need lots of extra folate, potassium and magnesium.  I think I get extra benefit from some additional iron too.

Not what you're looking for?
