Hi loulou42,

Re:" am wondering if I have to stop taking b12 and folic acid supplements beforehand.will these give a false reading if taken before proper testing.", yes the simple and only answer is yes if you have been self medicating then that will scewer results; for months.

Kind regards,

Marre.

Thankyou for that info.i thought that might be the case.although my doctor has said to keep taking them but I am wary of doing that so will stop until tested I think.

If your b12 is too high when you get tested then you can get a false positive, it happened to me so stop taking all supplements now.
