Hi all,

Does ferritin level affect b12?

My ferritin has been low for around 5 years now. Highest I have found out it's been is 22. It was 15 last test now 44 however I have infection in body which only found out about. I have heard infection affects ferritin levels so could this of affected serum b12? Serum b12 was 150 in May and now 230 something. Could this be a fault reading as feel no different.

Thanks Marre, I'm off to docs later in week as wanted to see me after bloods were done. I will ask the question plus mention the guidelines you posted.
