I have jumped across from another brilliant HealthUnlocked community (Thyroid Uk) to see if we can suss out what condition Hubby has, we thought it might be Hypothyroidism to start with, (still could be as his TSH and T4 bloods were not that high, though his T3 looked OK) but now are wondering if it is more B12 connected.?
His blood count of B12 was 345 (range 180 - 910)
Symptoms are:-
Tiredness even after a nights sleep
Sighs a lot,
Weakness, cramps, stiffness, aches and pains in muscles.
Finds it hard sometime, to hold a kettle or mobile phone to his ear for long due to strength loss.
Tingling in hands and fingers
Dizziness at times
Sometimes feels colder/shivery inside.
Rheumatologist said after a physical examination that there was no problem with Husband's Muscles.
Any help will be most appreciated.

Unfortunately, his range will be seen as acceptable to GP's. Even though he is suffering symptoms and would probably benefit greatly from B12 injections. His symptoms certainly point to B12 deficiency. My Daughter has a lower range than your husband, 260, yet the Dr's will not treat her as she is within the ref range yet showing chronic symptoms and as I have Pernicious Anaemia you would think that alarm bells would be ringing. Have you considered getting the active B12 test done? This will give a truer picture, providing he hasn't been supplementing with B12. If I were in his shoes this would be the first place that I would start. It is very difficult to convince GP's and it often feels like you are banging your head off a brick wall. Also have a look at the Pernicious Anaemia society who are very helpful and will answer any questions that you may have.
Yes we will be getting active B12 privately and a few others and pop the results and ranges up on our Thyroid UK forum site on here (also on Health Unlocked) for others to read more accurately, we know that these bloods often come back within the normal range, though patient far from normal.
Does sound like he has PA.
So cannot believe they haven't connected your poor daughter's low B12 reading with your condition, has she done an active B12 test also ?
