Our circadian clock sets the rhythm for our cells' powerhouses.

Countless genetically controlled clocks keep time in different body parts, such as the liver, kidneys and heart. Among other things, they initiate metabolic processes, ensuring that these occur at the optimal time of day. Mitochondria, cellular organelles that produce energy, play an important role in these processes. Until now, it was unclear how exactly the 24-hour circadian rhythm regulated energy metabolism.

This is a fascinating study. Thanks for highlighting it.

Just finished this morning reading "The Circadian Code: Lose weight, supercharge your energy and sleep well every night" by Dr Sachin Panda . The title makes it sound less scientific than it is but it's very good and incorporates a lot of modern research and studies. Also covers eating to a circadian routine which means healing cellular processes have time to kick in overnight , normally hindered by erratic dietary habits, midnight snacks in my case! Several references to mitigating the effects of Parkinsons and preventing dementia, alzheimers etc.

Very interesting reads, very interesting!

Some things are worth giving up midnight snacks for...and some are not. Unapologetic night owl accepting the consequences, including marital. Instant karma is going to get us all somehow though. But I will find my way to that Circadian Code and take a look.

Eating within an 8-12 hr window is best with 8 or 10 hours being most beneficial so you can squeeze in an evening snack if you have a late breakfast!

This mini series is interesting and talks about circadian rhythms and other things affecting energy. If you can’t watch all of it start around 35 minutes.
