I broke down and "punished" myself with one of these bad boys this afternoon. It is sooo great to be off Sinemet.

I take sinemet and that would never stop me from enjoying such a light snack.

You wild and crazy dude. That beastly serving of bovine protein would have shook me.

Yum! Looks amazing! And please do tell us what you're doing instead of SInemet, and why you went off (besides being able to wolf down a burger now and then without worrying about your pills not working due to too much protein).

Bon appétit!

You can have the yeasty buns, I will eat the cow. I can feel the pure energy slowing down as my veins gorge them selves on saturated fat. My eyes roll back i my head and I gently settle into the couch rubbing my belly. " yeasty bread ".

When & why did you go off sinemet? Did you replace it with anything?

BUZZ1397 profile image
BUZZ1397

oceanflower and laglag, you missed my post of aboout 8 or 10 days ago when I announced success at replacing Sinemet with mucuna pruriens (mp) and some natural source inhibitors (EGCG, quercetin/bromelain) identified-suggested by Silvestrov. It worked. I took my last 1/2 tab of sinemet on the evening of the last day of February. At bedtime I started with the mp and never looked back. It was dodgy for the first two weeks as I was still determining which product works best and how much to take and the timing. When I was comfortable I posted about it. You should follow me, I can be interesting sometimes. :) I already follow you laglag. I'll follow you now oceanflower. Must like beaches as much as I do. Laglag I want you to know I still use EMERGEN C every morning and the olfactory awakening I 1st noticed continues.

What Mucuna doyou take. I take a Now tablet. Found a doc.in my area who will treat pd with Mucuna and CBD so I made an appointment instead of trying to treat myself. I also take Emergen-C but not sure why. Appreciated your blogs.

Hello! Why Emergen C? Buzz, how much quercetin do you take? I've been diagnosed for 2.4 years and only take azilect plus supplements. I'd like to start on mucuna but did not because of interaction w Azilect.

Also, has anyone read about B1/thiamine therapy?

Caution is needed, certainly! Be very careful what you add to Azilect. People have died you know. EMERGEN C was recommended by laglag and she was mysterious about what benefit she derived from it. Regardless I took some and lo and behold my olfactory sense came back somewhat. Quercetin: I take 1 small capsule of caffeine free 95% twice a day. Once with 1st mp and once with 4th mp dose.

do you know of any supplements that interact with azilect?

Green tea and extracts containing theanine springs to mind because of personal experience. Sure there are others. Here is a link aboout theanine and Azilect rxlist.com/drug-interaction...

I didn't realize I was being mysterious about the Emergen C? It helps me with stiffness, pain & fatigue. I'll be happy to tell my story again! For about 6 months I was having really bad pain & stiffness in my thighs & it eventually worked it's way up to the groin. Walking hurt a little but doing stairs & trying to sit or get out of a chair gave me excruciating pain & stiffness. A friend told me about Emergen C so I started taking it & about 3-4 weeks later I got up out of my chair & no pain. I started marching around the house with a big smile. My husband said, what are you doing?? I said, no pain! That was probably about a year ago & now I rarely miss a day of taking it.

Buzz,

Did/do you have dyskinesias? And, have you noticed any diff between the sinemet and MP?

Thanks,

Julie

I have. In January this year I noticed I had begun to experience the unmistakable beginning of it, as an occasional neck shoulder twist. Last year I started doing the the lip quivers and I didn't think anything of it. These things are one of the reasons I determined to try natural levodopa. Well I've only been off Sinemet 35 days, too soon to say I wont get another involuntary neck twist but I haven't so far. The lip quivers are ongoing and I think getting more so. but that's just me right ow thinking about t, usually I don't. Why you asking?

I am very sensitive to meds, have a lot of dyskinesia and am thinking about following Rich's protocol, also. The more information I collect the better prepared I will be.
