Hello, I’ve been dealing with both pancreatitis and epi for about the past 13 years. I’m on pain meds and pain blocks and was on creon but ins stopped paying for it and had to go on another brand. I’m just thankful they pay for something. It seems to work just as well. My cp is mostly under control. Glad to have this forum.

Hi Loopydroopy,

Hello 😊 Nice to meet you. I hope your pain blocks help! Sorry you’re insurance won’t pay for creon but I’m glad they will pay for at least something! It must be really hard being reliant on what an insurance company will cover! We are so fortunate here in the U.K. with our NHS! Goodness... I would have no chance if I’d had to pay or get insurance cover.

I’m glad to hear your cp is mainly under control these days. My pancreas is basically burnt out these days so thankfully I don’t really get the pain these days. My biggest issue is the diabetes it’s left me with ...I have a rare autoimmune disease called IgG4 systemic disease which has caused cp, diabetes and chronic kidney disease. But I have my own type of diabetes 😂😂😂...just for fun! Funnily enough I saw my diabetes consultant today and we were having a giggle about when people ask ‘ are you type 1 or 2?’ I’m like no, neither of them. Type 3c? No, not that either! I have my very own IgG4 diabetes 🤦‍♀️which no one had ever heard of! Just makes it a bit tricky not fitting in a box that no one understands!

Sorry for rambling on!

I’m glad to get to know some others who CP...although sorry at the same time that we all have it or have family members with it!

Look forward to getting to know you and the others better!

Dee 😊

Yes for sure, I haven’t heard of that type of diabetes at all. Of course I had not heard of most of the stuff that I am now diagnosed with. Nice to have people to talk to though. Even though like you, I hate that we all have to deal with it all. Happy Mother’s Day to you if you are a mother.

Hi Loopydroopy,Was just wondering how you’re doing? How have you been these past couple of weeks?

It’s finally managed to stop raining ☔️ here for a bit so hopefully we’ll see some summer after all!

I’ve been having asthma issues but that seems to getting better for the time being! The only trouble was the prednisolone causing crazy glucose readings for my diabetes. 🤦‍♀️ I think that’s starting to right itself now too thank goodness!

Anyhow, take care!

Loopydroopy, I can totally sympathize with the expense of the enzymes you need. I was put on Zenpep, up to 9 capsules a day. The monthly cost was approximately $3400, my insurance doughnut hole kicked in at $4130, so after one month, I could not afford my medication. Zenpep is produced by Nestle Co. and they DO have a patient assistance program for those of us who can't afford it. Their phone # is 1-865-210-6228. It may take some digging, but most of the drug makers DO have an assistance program, so find out who makes your medication and see what you can find. Good luck!!!
