Have you ever had treatment with medical grade (sterile) Manuka honey? It's worth asking about.
You poor thing Jackie, that sounds painful. Hope things improve for you soon. What does yr GP say?
I am an ND and HD but not GP. I have used Aloe Vera gel with great success. Grab some in the palm and add one drop only of Manuka essentail oil. [This is from NZ and in the same family as Tea tree from Aust but a lot kinder to the skin]. Then dollop it on the ulcer and just bind lightly if wanted with a cotton bandage. Repeat two to three times a day as the ulcer looks as if it needs it and don't wash it at all. Well the ulcer was through tothe bone and all that was offered was an op. It cleared it up in a week and the skin started to grow. After three months it has left a dimple. Small price to pay. As I cannot be with you it is up to you if you try this.
Thankful for any advice, the nurse at my gp practise has tried every patch /dressing
Out there .the honey I do remember because it made the pain twice as bad,l can't put creams on it as I'm in compression bandages ,the vascular surgion won't operate on my leg
Because I was born without a inferior vena cava,my body made lots of little veins to compensate, but lm 43 and the little veins aren't working hard enough to push the blood back up the leg to the heart .they recon that's why lm not healing.
