I wish I had the luxery to make such comments. I am incapacity benefit because of long term pain. I have to work quite hard to convince people that I have a genuine problem. I know well about the days and times I am unable to do things. I had just had to cancel a hospital appointment because I was approaching a mental crash/mental overload. Next available appointment in 4 months time.
I have learnt to handle my pain and discomfort by being truthful about it and learning to predict from close observation of my pain's behaviour about my future ability to function. People who do not experience long term pain do not understand the problems and they can object to supporting those who they think should be able to work but are to lazy to.
So be very careful with the comments you have made. They could be used against you by all sorts of legal people.
john, I know and see exactly where you are coming from and whilst trying to find some humour I was also acknowledging how bad things are. The first section of each line is the awful truth, the second is a light hearted "time out" I'd rather have just for one day. Yes I have to accept I have pain, but allowing myself the freedom to have a day off where I can be like any other woman of my age keeps me sane.
It might be possible to get any earlier app't if you speak to your consultant's secretary, I have had to do this many times and it mostly works.
I see what john is saying , however I just saw it for what is was (I think) just a bit of black humour about all of our situations . Its something I do alot and it helps lessen the power my condition and CP have over my life - albeit a temp one - but anything helps. Lets face it if 'we' can't leave a blog like this on here where we know people undestand then that would be a pity and not what I thought this site is (partly) about.
It's strange cos without having seen this blog I had just left on my facebk page - " I have had a day of reflection ...... of the inside of my eye-lids" . This helpe me 'deal' with the fact my body couldn't function today (again) cos I went out yesterday .
