Blackthorn in my foot.

Hi guys yesterday I stood on a thorn and it went into my foot and I couldn't get it out and today where the thorn went in it has swollen . What should I do??

I think you should go to at the very least a walk in clinic. This needs to be looked at by medics to remove the thorn and you may need to be treating with antibiotics. Certainly it can’t stay imbedded in your foot.

If you are in the UK you can call NHS 111 and they will advise where your closest Minor Injury and Illness (MIIU) or urgent care centre is. They may even be able to book an appointment for you so you don't have as much waiting time.

I managed to get it out after i soaked it in white wine vinegar. Thank you for your help though.

Lavender oil is a staple of the hegecutting toolkit.

Dab it on the site promptly.

Blackthorn thorns can turn septic very quickly.

I've had a few nasty ones in my time at laying hedges.

If you haven't done so already, get into an emergency dept ASAP.
