Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome

Hi. I’m a 49yr old man who has retired from a career in finance after 25 years due to pain. I had my first back operation when I was 17 and my 5th in October 2022. In the last 3 years I have been suffering with constant pain in the pelvic region. It came on suddenly in July 21 and has been with me every day since. The main symptoms are groin & bladder pain and painful urination. I have seen multiple specialists in multiple fields. I have tried multiple holistic approaches. I have tried most of the painkillers out there. Nothing seems to work. My pain is aggravated by alcohol. My pain is never a zero out of ten. While I’ve been diagnosed with Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome I understand this is an umbrella diagnoses when healthcare professionals don’t know what is going on. The lack of diagnoses also frustrates me. I’ve joined this forum to try and find people who are suffering from similar issues and hopefully swap notes on what helps etc. Thank you

Hi Hidden, Sorry to hear about you medical conundrum abd lack of progress. I had the same symptoms you did fir years and resulted in my wearing nappies. After almost a decade, a locum Dr referred me to see a urologist. Within minutes from a finger internal examination I was told it was due to my bowels. I was prescribed Docusate tablets x4 per day. The issues began to reduce then came back after 3 months. I was then diagnosed with Sjogrens syndrome which is about dryness in your body. I had zero idea about this & didnt lnow anythingabout it. I called Urology and told them about it. I was told they would liase with other consultants to discuss my case. After 6 weeks they called me back and stated it was actually the Sjogrens syndrome that was the cause of my pain, urinary and bowel issues. I take laxatives, Peppermint Oil Capsules x3 per day, drink x3 cups of Peppermint Tea. Its been like this now for about 3 years and has reduced my symptoms a lit, but when I get a flare up it can last for about 3 days. On the whole though, I can't complain as I was contemplating suicide due to other heakth issues too.

But I do think you have this ...and some type of Mercury poisoning too 🙃. Please let us know how you get on as we all care about each other here on healthunlocked.com and will give you support, information, advice, and comparible health diagnosis and issues. All the best 😍
