Pain relief

Has anyone heard of liquid pain relief ........ everything I've seen and experienced seems to be in tablet/capsule form. Does the body process liquids in a different way to tablets to avoid some more of the unpleasant side effects of some brand of tablets, yet, still give pain relief.

Noted thank you. TBH ... my Pharmacist is a staff member of my surgery and it's so much easier to pull hens teeth than deal with this mob. Even just phoning up with a simple query ends up in having to make an appointment. Phoning my local Boots Pharmacy .... nobody answers the phone they are understaffed and too busy and even if I go there for a face to face I have to join a queue which makes an airport checkin queue look civilised.

Hi BenHall1You asked about liquid pain relief. Well, there is liquid Morphine, which I take and I also take a capsule called Zomorph, which is Morphine in a tablet. The liquid Morphine definately works faster on the pain for me. Although the capsule is slow release, I believe the liquid enters your system faster.

I am sure there may well be more liquid pain killers, such as paracetamol. I wish I could be of more help, sorry.

hi , I found your post interesting, I suffer from Osteoporosis and COPD. I am always in pain , I was referred to pain management, in which I have been put on Pregabine I asked my GP regarding oralmorph , but she refused as I had a history (once) of suicidal thoughts at age of 30 , I am now 61 , and have no thoughts of that route at all .

Thank you for your comments, much appreciated. At this stage my GP seems to have a one track mind tablets, tablets and more damn tablets. I have used three, Gabapentin, Pregabalin and Amitriptyline both in 5mg and 10 mg doses .... three that she has prescribed each has kicked off quite dramatic diahrrea. So at the moment I'm stuck with CoCodomol 30/500. However, I've kept a note of the stuff you've mentioned and will discuss with our Surgery Pharmacist.
