I was on tramadol for at least 10 years----100 mg. then my doc took me off because a neurologist put me on Clonazepam for REM/SBD (rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder.) But I was also getting cervical and lumbar rhizotomies...and still do every 12-14 months or so. I am now working with the VA for a pain med that will not conflict wiith clonazepam. Back to tramadol....taken off because of the interaction etween the two. The tramadol was kind of a maintainer/sustainer inbetween the rhizotomies. it worked well for me. I would go back on it if they let me....but they wont. Not much to add to that. Its not addictive. MGs vary on the usual variables---other meds, weight, and so on. Good luck.

Yes Marko, I am lying, about everything, even in this response to you. I lie, cheat, and steal all the time. Sorry I offended you, and I lie about that too. Geez!

Marko39, Tramadol can me addictive and habit forming. However, it’s not the same for everyone, the same as some patients experience hallucinations on morphine whilst others don’t, some patients find Tramadol to be very effective whilst others don’t. I was on Tramadol 200mg twice a day, I was still able hold down a senior position, as the side effects after 6 or so weeks decreased. Unfortunately I don’t experience any euphoric side effects, where others do, and which can be very debilitating.

I came of the Tramadol without any withdrawal symptoms or any other issues.

After back surgery I was tramadol for around 7 years at 200 twice daily.I tapered down and stopped.Horrible withdrawals from the start. Then after a few months I generally started to feel better only to be hit by severe PAWS and after 1 year 7 months I still get clusters off withdrawals that come out of nowhere.

That's actually not true I take Tramadol and sometimes I don't take it at all if I am having a good day and don't think I need it I won't take it I will just take my Advil or Tylenol and move on with my day because I am also prescribed diazepam which is a muscle relaxer I think it's ridiculous that you would sit here on this platform and tell somebody that they are lying don't you think that we've all been through enough of gaslighting by our doctors and other health care people we don't need your negative feedback talking about how somebody's lying and that they're going through withdrawal not everybody suffers withdrawal if you are taking your medications the way you are supposed to Tramadol is less likely to be addictive than more stronger opioids like oxycodone or morphine Dilaudid Etc that wasn't very nice of you and I think it's very disrespectful if you have nothing nice to say please don't say anything at all we've all been through enough

severe withdrawal is very common with all opiates and is a fact! People spreading misinformation and avoiding the real truth (like you) is more damaging to people looking help.Tramadol is highly addictive and more dangerous than you personally think! I suggest for you to search online about the dangers of tramadol online before you tell everyone how safe it is.

One thing that jumps out is that both of thise raise your risk of serotonin syndrome considerably. I only know that because my medical team has remained adamant I not be in tramadol with any antidepressants or anti anxiety medications which is why we started with hydrocodone and worked our way up. I’m currently seeing the best results on OxyContin/oxycodone for break through so that’s what we are running with. I have crps so a 0/10 is never doing to happen but - 6/10 can. So set realistic goals and make sure the benefits outweigh the risks.

I'm here in the United States and they hate prescribing any kind of opioid with any kind of benzo however Tramadol is a very low opioid it does help with pain it's not great but it is less addictive and should be tolerable with diazepam or lorazepam as I take both and have been for a while I take the Lorazepam to help me sleep in a diazepam for my muscle spasms as well as my anxiety I have severe depression as well due to the issues that have complicated my life with this pain I think as long as your doctor is keeping a close eye on you you should be fine and as long as you're not abusing it you should be well the combination is always worked good for me I do not think it's so much an addiction thing it's just that we have become reliant on it dependent as usual but they should if they're going to take you off of that they should taper off so I remember one time my doctor saying you can have one or the other but I can't give you both I chose the pain medication because I can put a heating pad on my back for the muscle problem but the pain is immense I needed something more for the pain so it's a personal decision don't listen to anybody gaslighting you you know what's best for you you know your body I wish you nothing but the best love and light to you from the US

Doctors are afraid to prescribe opioids with benzodiazepine because it has a greater risk of respiratory depression as well but if you are taking them correctly you should be okay however I know some doctors a lot of doctors actually especially here in the United States are very skeptical prescribing both it's one of the other I guess it's pick your poison good luck to you

Have you heard of nefopam? It's a weird painkiller that is often given as it doesn't interact with other meds in the same way opiates can.

How could you!!! Lie, cheat and steal? ,Because I must be lying, cheating and stealing, as I didn’t experience any withdrawal or habit forming issues. I worked for 25 years in a medical field and I can confirm Tramadol can me addictive and habit forming. However, it’s not the same for everyone, the same as some patients experience hallucinations on morphine whilst others don’t, some patients find Tramadol to be very effective whilst others don’t.
