Hi. Again, just thought I'd let you kind and helpful members know what's been happening over the days since I sought advice. I am typing this from a hospital bed, and awaiting an MRI scan. I am now paralyzed from the chest down.
I have only just been given the internet code, so not had chance to do anything till now.
So I phoned ambulance 10 am. Monday. Having dressed and crawled down stairs to hall. Around 11am postman knocked on door, I thought it was ambulance. He managed to open stuck door to deliver charger. Then left door open to make it easier for ambulance crew. They did not turn up till 6 pm. By then I was freezing cold and paralyzed.

Arrived at a and e 7pm. Excruciating pain. And lots of tests and scans. Followed. Morphine and other drugs, in a and e trolley till 1am, then taken to side room on ward. Bed very uncomfortable. Just had call from surgery finally they have results of bloods done weeks ago. Have asked them to send to email inbox. I asked if gp had repeated RBC, viscosity and hematocrit but I bet he didn't. Thyroid was very low after just 2 weeks without tyrosine, so I'm probably very hypo now after 6.5 weeks without. I have catheter, not had any food for several days. Nurse has given me name of solicitor so I hope to be able to write will. Thats all for now. Thanks to all for support and understanding.
Just to add that Dr said looks like lung problem spread to spine, probably cancer, which I suspected last year, but gp said nah probably virus, hence only got appt for xray yesterday. I wish i had been more assertive, and not been so concerned with expense of drawn out consults.
I asked via Phone in January if I could have xray, but he said no, you will have to come in, but he was happy with oxygen sats. The bloods done last year along with symptoms did suggest lung cancer, at least to me. Serves me right for penny pinching I suppose. So be warned and do share your concerns with gp and insist on further investigations based on your own research, and wherever you live don't worry about gp Bill's. Life is short.
Twonks are the backbone of sunny jersey, that and corruption and cover up. I guess it will be triangulation till I die now. Already had same question fired at me 10 times by local neurologist just before MRI, on monday, namely 'so your not mentally ill then?"
I wonder if a new insert will appear in the medical notes, perhaps along the lines of 'patient admitted to long term self inflicted metastatic cancer and kept it quiet' also patient had no cough or signs of vertebral fracture.
I still have not received blood tests, had I received them last month I would have called ambulance and wouldn't now be paralyzed with nowhere to go.
So sorry to hear jahel that you have had such an ordeal plus suffering such enormous pain. reminded me of my son-in-law. Its terrible that in our hours of most need its not there is it. ?Hopefully now you will be treated more compassionately and made more comfortable. Its so sad that seriously ill people suffer in this way, its not nice when its you or your family. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time and thank you for being insistent that is the only way we may change future outcomes for all patients. Sad however that people have to suffer like yourself to highlight such things. Every best wish for a more peaceful medical journey now and good control of your symptoms.
