PREGABALIN

this a new drug to me in fact 1 week. I’ve had the situation of constipation it seems with all pain drugs

Just hopefully getting over stomach problems. Pharmacist says it will kick in is few days.

Anyone had constipation trouble with this drug?

Constipation isn't listed as a common side effect of pregabalin, maybe something else is causing it?

yes, I took this medication for a while but found I got constipated, not everyone does, but it is one of the side affects, as are many painkillers. I did, however manage to get a replacement painkiller, but mostly painkillers will have this problem. In my case I take a dose of Lactulose first thing in the morning on an empty stomach when I’ve had a few days of not ‘going’ and then take my breakfast an hour or so afterwards. I find this will help me to ‘go’ sometime before lunchtime. ( usually) hope this helps.

thanks. I use laxido everyday 1 is usually enough. Been put on Pregabalin to help with pain. I take a cocodamol if pain bad maybe at night before sleeping tab. Pain killing is a minefield. Rick

absolutely I’ve been on Pregablin for over 4 years now. I am permanently on laxatives now. I’ve also gained 5 stone. Please be careful on this drug

yes I’m on it. Doesn’t work all the time. Need extra help from a chemist.

Goingtobe given some form of liquid morphine for back up.O nly just started 2nd week hopin for the best as with all these socalled remedies

hi I take pregablin along with some other medication and have done for 12 years and constipation has always been a problem but I am prescribed laxido which I have to take every day and it works very well you can also buy it over the counter.

Thanks Laxido has saved me. Been on many pain killers. So far been on pregab a week. Taking this only until next week. Pain starting to ease.Rick

Def a side effect with this med - as others say Laxido is your friend while taking pregablin. Cocodamol wont be helping the constipation either. Just be careful taking the pregablin (and do remember to reduce it if you ever want to stop taking it, as you have to wean yourself off) as it can make you dizzy or light headed ( everyones constitution is different though)

thanks. Have had constipation from the many tabs doctor has given me. Not serious until they gave me Oramorph morphine, constipation hell if you ever have to use it. ( for me) for others may be ok.🤑.Taking Laxido so far so good.
