Hi. Is anyone else here taking Pregabalin for anxiety? If so, what results have you had. I’m looking to share my experiences with this drug. I have been taking it for 8 weeks now and the dose has just been increased. Thanks.

I was actually prescribed Pregablin for neuropathic pain but have found despite dire circumstances eg family deaths and my illnesses my husband's illnesses I seem somehow able to cope whereas friends say just one of the things I have experienced would be difficult to cope with. I am on quite a low dose but found when I was put on a higher one I didn't really care what was happening and only had the energy to sit around literally doing nothing. As long as I don't increase the dose I have minimal side effects.

Hope someone here has been prescribed it just for anxiety and can be more helpful.x

Thanks for your response. I was only taking 25mg twice a day and the doctor has just increased them to 50mg three times a day and I’ve noticed my coordination is much worse... What dose are you taking please?

I take 50mg I the morning and 75.mg at night. Initially I was 50m.at midday as.well but that dose knocked me for.six.

That’s crazy... The new 50mg added in at lunch time has also knocked me for six. I feel clumsy, can’t coordinate myself and feel spaced out. I wonder if I should just leave out that dose?

That is the dose I left out as I thought I needed the first dose to help with the pain before getting up and then last thing at night. The middle dose just made me so dopey. I took an extra tablet last night as my pain was excruciating and I didn't get up until midday as I felt so dopey and my head seems like cotton wool at the moment but at least it helped with the pain. We can't win can we. Take care.x

I spoke with my doctor and he agreed to leave out the midday dose until my next appointment and yesterday was much better. It’s all a trial and error process I think, but we have to try to know.x

Thanks. I’m only taking 50mg twice a day at the moment. Did you find that you had depression and suicidal thoughts when you increased your dose each time?

My anxiety was getting so bad it was effecting me daily so my psychiatrist prescribed 50mg morning and 50mg evening and it’s been a game changer, I had dizziness, headaches, feeling like I was drunk and uncoordinated but I stuck it out as it had made a huge difference to my anxiety plus it was also helping with my nerve pain bonus 😊 so after a couple of months feeling a lot better I still had some anxiety creeping in and at this present time my husbands mum is on end of life care and doesn’t have long left, my mum is recovering from being seriously ill with sepsis and pneumonia 😞 and I am struggling so my psychiatrist has upped the dose to 100mg morning and 100mg evening, well I started it today and Im hoping that the side effects are not too bad but I know that I can always lower the dose again if need be. I have had anxiety since I was a child and I’m now 50 😁 and I have been on so many medications and I can honestly say that this drug has been a life saver for sure as I could hardly function and get through the day and I would wake up anxious !!!!!! So my advice is to hang in there and if it is really helping with your anxiety the side effects do subside

Hope this helps a little

😊

Hi there I'm new on here. I was prescribed Pregablin 3wks ago, to start with I was on 50mg 3 times aday, yes I felt drowsybut by day 3 the side effects were gone. 2nd week 75mg 3 times a day..yes drowsy for 2 day then no side effects. Today 3rd week I started on 100mg 3 times a day feel alittle bit spaced out but hey I've had no anxiety since my first dose. I'm glad to say Pregablin has changed my life. I have had anxiety since a child & over the years tryed every med there is. I'm 66yrs old & have a new lease of life. I was on a mental health unit for 2mth due to being unable to cope with life. My social phobia was so bad I didn't even answer the phone to friends incase they wanted to meet up. Now I'm calling them & arrange to meet for coffee or lunch. I'm the happyist person on the planet. I would say stick with the side effects as they do wear off. I also have L4 7 L5 loweer back degenaration also it in my neck cause really horrible pain in my arm...Pregablin had also cure my pain. If it helps with your anxiety & pain please try to stick with it, its well worth the try.
