HiI’m with you on this one. I’m a bit further ahead though maybe. I’m sick, tired, desperate and dying but my GP has written me off completely over a week ago and even before that they were diabolical for the last 4 years with my emphysema and the previous 34 years with severe back pain. Oh I forgot to mention the 100 day migraine type pain due to a trapped nerve in my neck which I spent probably thousands on with physio etc. All I asked for were a few diazepam to help me relax enough to sleep longer than the 20 minutes at a time I was getting .
I could chat forever on this subject but can I ask is there a particular illness you have that they have been unwilling to give you adequate care for? Or maybe they’re just completely useless and covid has made things 10 times more unbearable?

If you’re not getting anywhere with doctors, hire a registered nurse consultant or a lawyer.Doctors are notorious for gaslighting chronic pain patients ( who in so many cases have not had a proper differential diagnosis done ).
Don’t give up. It’s so unfair that people in severe body pain and who are sleep deprived are left in agony.
A Valium pill or suppository ( where is your pain? ) will calm muscles and your nervous system.
I am new to this forum, finding everyone's comments helpful but also shocking that so many people with chronic pain are not being listened to. Definitely agree with comment about doctors lighting chronic pain sufferers. I have been managing pain for a hip and back conditions for over 10 years and made lots of adjustments to continue working but 8 weeks ago seem to have some flare-up with pain in neck, shoulder, arms, wrists, elbows and hands. Had some time off work, have tried going back but keyboard work definitely flaring it all up. GP (always a different one overtime) just not listening to me , treating the symptoms with more anti-inflammatories and pain killers but not doing anything to find out the cause and sad didn't understand why work was a problem! Feeling desperate, have now booked appoint to see private GP for some answers can't think what else to do
These guys are on over £100k and moonlight on NHS time. People need to start writing to their MP's en masse.
Hi, I quite understand why you feel as you do. I have suffered constant pain mainly in my neck/shoulders. This hit me over 10 years ago, trying to get through to a GP and make them listen is virtually impossible these days. I have tried three different surgeries in three years, each one just as bad as the other. I have tried to get them to send me for physio, to no avail, as I always end up with muscular skeletal dept, which in my opinion is a complete and utter waste of time. One private physio commented that in his opinion muscular was the biggest waste of NHS money. I even had a private neurologist say to me, he could tell that I hadn’t had a lot of support. My latest MRI scan has lead them to make me an appointment with a neurosurgeon, after years telling me it was wear and tear. This is in October, this year, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Don’t give up, take care. Hi everyone a little update on my neurosurgeon appointment, I Received a letter a couple of weeks ago from the hospital where I was to receive my telephone appointment from. Informing me that due to unforeseen circumstances my appointment was being canceled, and another one arrange for December. I am fully expecting another nearer to the date informing me that due to unforeseen circumstances it has to be cancelled once more. Due to the fact that because of covid, hospitals are practically none available, I wonder what unexpected circumstance caused no one to be available to even pick up the phone, but time will tell.
I've just called the orthopedics dept, to get a gleeful pa saying how she's only at the hospital 3 days and the remaining 6 days she's off. Nine day week, baffles the mind. But she seemed to get such satisfaction from saying she was unavailable. And shes the only person to take calls for an entire department.
