Hi I recognise your pain. I had surgery 4 years ago for Cauda equina which was too late and I now have adhesive arachnoiditis. I was referred to a specialist team in Nottingham by the surgeon who looks after me. I have had the first telephone appointment and they agree that I suffer from neuropathic pain which makes me a candidate for SCS. I am due to meet the multi-disciplinary team on the 21 July to see if this is for me. I have been told that I could wait anything between 6 to 12 months for a trial and the final implant. In the meantime I am booked in for a nerve block injection on the 20 May. I could let you know how this progresses.

Take care and keep up your spirits

Also I'm sorry to hear about you having cauda equine I've heard its extremely painful & such a shame the surgery was too late as I've been warned of the damage that, that can do. Good luck 🤞 that SCS work and gives you the relief you need.Take care

Hi there. Well I have had a bilateral nerve block. What an experience and I did not feel a thing even though it was done under local anaesthetic. This was Thursday and I have not taken any pain killers since and took off an opiate patch. I know this is only temporary relief but I am glad I have had it - I have been able to do more without the constant acute pain. The numbness is still there and that will never go away but I feel better since I can sleep better now.

Hope you stay strong and take care

Hi Toui I'm glad your feeling better☺️, are you still going to have the SCS?

Hi Jade 22

Yes I am still going ahead with it because this likely to be temporary. I have read a lot of posts about this from bad experiences but I view it that there must equally be good experiences with it.
