Pain in top of bottom lower back and sometimes groin

25 YO male here

For past week and half ive been having pains in my upper bum lower back all across that area , its worse on my right side, its almost constant pain sitting walking lying ect

I few times it felt like its in the back of my upper right leg aswell

When I sit the pain is very bad in the upper bum area

Certain movements can make it worse such as moving my hips side to side or moving my leg, I went for an 10 minutes walk and it was okay a little painful after a while but once i stopped walking the pain hit me I couldn't walk straight for a while as every moment was agony in that same area then I started walking again and it went off a little got home and it was worse again when stopping.

Some times when i go pass a stool and strain it hurts in that same area also

Does anyone have any ides what it could be

The symptoms you have described could be because of one of the nerves in that area being aggravated. It could be caused by something in you back or by a problem with your sacroiliac joint. Usually GPs and physios don't want to know about it until you have had it for 2 weeks and it is not getting better, because most low back pain gets better on its own, and is usually gone by 6 weeks. The exceptions if there are red flags such as tingling, lost of bowel and bladder sensations.

Hi, it sound to me it could be your hip, iv been suffering for years with my back. Then legs pain is horrendous, started getting pain in right side groin, can't move at time because of pain, now been told by specialist, not only do I have spinal stenosis, iv not got to have both hip replaced. Tell your doctor you want MRI Scan, ASAP, don't let doctors fob you off... hope you get sorted out soon 🙂

Hi

I'm sorry you are in so much pain. I have spondylitis which is lower back and also degeneration of the facet joint. It is definitely worth having an MRI to see what's going on and as JEWEW said, don't let them fib you off!!

Please let us know how you get on.

Take care and stay safe Lynne

sounds like your hip joint has wear and tear (arthritis) I get this but on a larger scale constant pain for the last 5 year.. I have mis Shaped femoral heads on my hip joint bones and has caused quicker wear and tear my left is currently bone on bone after last xray was done and need a new hip... still seek professional opinion
