Co-codamol

Please can I have a little help. Although possibly a silly question.

I have been taken off the Butrans pain patches due to the bad reactions to them. I have since been tried on 2 Amitriptyline at night, also Pregabalin twice a day. And just recently started as well, on Co-codamol, initially 1 of the 8/500mg's to take twice a day.

They are the effervescent type as the chemist didn't have in the tablet form. Now I have been upped to take 2 of the 8/500mg's twice a day.

As the tablet needs to be dissolved in a half a glass of water, do I now pop the 2 tablets together in the half glass of water, or do I need to dissolve each separately in 2 half filled glasses of water?.

Put the 2 in together, though if you’re unsure phone your pharmacist and ask. They taste awful, you can add some diluted juice . Best wishes 🌸

Thank you for replying. xx

I will do as you have suggested, and I have some diluted juice, that will help then for the better flavour. :)

I admit I was initially thinking of phoning the pharmacist but I didn't want them to think I was a dopey duck.

At least no one here would think that..........well, maybe. 😂

I have been taking 2x 30/500 cocodamol 4x daily for pain after a failed total knee replacement. They won't operate until the infection which caused the failure disappears. The cocodamol tastes terrible! Can I suggest you dissolve both yours in water and then add a dash of concentrate fruit juice. Then, down the lot double quick!

Such a shame about the infection, last thing you need while now having to wait longer for the operation. Hopefully all settles as soon as can be for you then the operation can go ahead. All the best for that. :)

Yes indeed it does taste terrible, although at first it didn't seem to be too bad, then the yucky taste crept in the more days I had it. I for sure now add the fruit juice, more palatable then. I have downed it double quick, hardly touches the sides and hold my breath first. :)

Thank you. I guess cocodamol deliberately tastes awful so that toddlers spit it out if they find it and take it.
