Possible B12 deficiency - lots of pain and tiredness

Have had numerous problems as health has deteriorated over past 18 months.Neurological , weakness ; tired ,pains all over body. Have been taking naproxen : omeprazole and paracetamol - wondered could I have b12 deficiency.Speaking to doc later today re latest blood test results but noticed omeprazole can cause b12 deficiency - had hospital app last week in chest clinic told me did not have heart problem but to double omeprazole intake - they think it is gastric ( I have also had diverticulitis)

Also mother had pernicious anemia late in her life,

which can also be symptom of or cause B12 deficiency.

Have read that B12 blood results may look ok but they might not be if you are not absorbing the B12 intake in your gut.

I am worried doc will just dismiss this possibility and won’t allow me to have b12 injection to see .

If he won’t if I go private and get initial injection could I cause harm by getting too much b12 in my system ( and how often would I need them

Ask your GP for a print out of Blood results and jump over to pernicious Anemia. And post on there lots of valuable info and knowledgeable people on there.

Stop the paranoia and stop reading into your own demise!

Yes certain pills CAN effect certain imbalances.

Your best bet is ask your Dr to the hormone team. It's not just hrt!

Seriously tho, becareful about reading things, as unless you have a fantastic chemistry background, you.eont fully understand it, and MAY worry more than needed.

Anything to do with nerves or neurological from head to toe is a good idea to check your B12 bloods.

A friend recently did private home finger prick ‘serum’ vitamin B12 bloods, they came back, low, ‘within’ the blood range.

Later did another private finger prick at home ‘Active’ vitamin B12 blood test and proved there was a B12 deficiency.

Then later went with their private tests results to see their doctor who did more bloods including ‘serum’ B12 and again the results came back as low in range.

I would myself now, only use the Active B12 test.

The Drs online advice on the first finger prick serum B12 test said their B12 was insufficient.

The Drs online advice on the second Active B12 test said that they were deficient.

Their Local Doctor never gave any advice on their low within range ‘serum’ B12.

Note there is a grey area that often gets overlooked. You can still have B12 presenting symptoms even when your B12 bloods are not under range.
