Long term pleurisy cause?

I have a long term pleuritic pain while inhaling in my upper back/under left shoulder blade. It’s Been constant for 12 months and gets worse at times with no obvious trigger .

Near constant Breathlessness , feeling like the slightest exercise or even fast walk is exhausting me and top to bottom joint pain present . Generally feeling unwell. All tests so far normal/scans etc. Non smoker and generally fit/well - gym/running 5-6 days a week prior to this.

At times the pain has been unbearable and I’ve had a couple of trips to A&E due to being in crippling pain In my chest and back. 1 of the two times I was told there looked to be fluid on my lungs and I was given doxycycline and sent on my way.

More recently I’ve started waking up with a phlegmy sensation on chest and hot/sweating.

I’ve recently taken a week course of amoxicillin for a bad tooth and for the whole 7 days , near enough all the above symptoms were gone - for the first time in 12 months I felt normal again. Since the course has finished I’ve gone back to how I was .

Anybody any advice or had similar experiences?

James

It sounds like your back is out. Specifically a rib. Do you have any issues with seeing a Chiropractor? Make sure you find a good one.

I have this as a constant so I feel your pain.

Take care

Where are you located?

Well I’ve currently had all normal CT and x - ray results (aside from the fluid occasion) and all bloods ok. MRI on my back is the next one I’m due . I just don’t understand why if it was my back that I’d feel ill with it and so weak/fatigued and bodily aches .

Thanks ,

I’m located in northwest England.

Hi from the States.

When your rib is out you can't take a deep breath so that in itself will cause pain and shortness of breath. When you can't take deep breath it knocks you down in many ways. The problem with western medicine vs eastern medicine is most MD's think chiropractors are quacks.

The x-rays and MRI's will help but they won't see that as a true diagnosis.

I hope you find relief!
