Hi glad to be here with you all and as i said i have a problem its my right hand last September i trapped my thumb in the car door (i know sound a silly thing to do) but how it happened we were on a slope and the door just slammed shut well i had it x-rayed but was told that there was nothing broken or anything. After a couple of weeks or so everything was alright but then about the middle to the end of November I started with a few twinges in my hand well in December I went to see my doctor who told me to put ibuprofen gel on it and a support bandage and gave me some exercise to do which ive been doing but it just seems to be getting worse my local hospital will not do anything as been and was told as it was an old injurie there is nothing they can do so now i can't make a fist with my right hand and im right handed i can't pick things up with that hand.
I do have fibromyalgia as well if anyone has any advice it would be truly grateful thanks in advance

I'm so sorry you are in so much pain. Maybe you could see a different GP or even out of hours at weekend. If your drs still won't budge then put a complaint in. They should at least send you to see a rheumatologist. That's where my fibro was diagnosed but all she did was refer me back to my GP. Please let me know how you get on. Pm me if you need to. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
You may have a soft tissue injury which would not show up on an X-ray.
Could you request a referral to a hand specialist doctor? You may have injured a ligament in the thumb. A hand specialist would know the correct diagnostic tests.
