Injection in the neck

I've had countless injections in my lower back but am thinking of get one in my neck. How bad does it hurt?

Good morning, I have had injections in several places and a year or so ago I had them in 3 places on the right hand side of my neck. They didn't hurt and I wasn't in any pain after having them.

Hi Amkoffee,

I’m wondering why you want/need injections in your neck. I’ve got a lot of pain due to spondylosis and perhaps injections might help.

041051 had them in the side of the neck but I think spondylosis is arthritis is the spine and I feel a bit unhappy about needles around there!

I am just a little apprehensive about needles in my neck as well. Which is weird because I don't have a problem with needles anywhere else. But the reason for them is they inject steroids and Lidocaine. The lidocaine just gives a temporary relief from pain and the steroid helps reduce the inflammation caused by the spondylosis. The problem is they don't always get it where the pain source is. And this is why I believe it doesn't work a lot of the times.
