Aspartame and GERD
Hi
It's brilliant that you've found this has really helped you. I had to have an op called fundoplication for my gerd but it did work!! Please take care Lynne
I am really glad that worked for you, but are you sure it was the aspartame and not something else? Were the drinks fizzy as well?
I don't drink anything that has aspartame in it so I guess it wouldn't work for me. We are all different!
They were juices with no added sugar
what did you replace them with?
I don’t touch aspartame either, I don’t drink any fizzy drinks and haven’t for 15 years, nothing diet either. I have severe reflux controlled by taking one omeprazole in the morning and one at night.
Are you sure it wasn’t coincidence and something else stopped the reflux? Like a change in your eating and drinking habits or a change in meds? Maybe what kind of fruit was in the juice? Or the types of acid in the drink?
I use Sucralose sweeteners once a day in tea, (and have done for 20 years as a diabetic) but drink 50% fruit juice, watered down and find apple is the best for reflux.
