Chronic pain

I have had chronic pain all parts of my body I take pregabilin, kapake,baclofen. Due to cervical myelopathy which I have had now for over 20 yrs I just wondered if there is any alternatives these drugs only take edge of the pain , thanks.

Have you had an MRI to see if your spinal cord if being pinched at some level

Does the MRI show that you need more surgery esp if your spinal cord is still being pinched.. sometimes surgery is the only answer.

Scan showed changes I'm waiting to speak to specialist when I get appointment , I had surgery in 2013 which left me with a lot of neurology problems bladder and bowel and movement and pain x

Hello my son's partner had ssscrapnel in his back and suffered terrible back pain. Opiates stopped working. He's had lots of injections in his back and it did help but his back still goes into spasm. He may have it done again but his GP has given him Lidocane patches and he says they've helped a lot with pain. I do feel for you as I'm in horrendous pain when I eat and I have had oesophagitis and gastritis for 4 yrs and the gastroenterologist won't see me again. I can't take any pain killers as I'm doubled up in my stomach in pain. Just thought I'd send you a message about the injections and lidocaine patches which may help you. Good luck

Hi hasten, thanks for your reply sorry to hear about your health and ,I had lidocaine infusion years ago I think it was that I had about a week of rest bite but it was only for pain in which I was misdiagnosed till 2013 I had nearly 20 yrs of hell and wouldn't wish it on anybody I'm waiting to be seen at Walton center Liverpool to discuss what's next I feel everything is going against me 6 yrs on from op I'm slowly getting worse but I will wait and see what they have to say ,I also have pain when I swallow just got to get used to it even my breathing is affected , but we are on this journey together.
