Unexplained Pain is driving me insane!

Hello everyone.

I am not sure what community this was best to post to as I am not exactly sure what is going on myself.

For over a year now I have been having unexplained right upper abdomen pain (Just under my right breast) The pain is also in the same area on my back.

The pain is made worse when I exercise or walk, it feels solid to touch around that area, I have a hard upper bloat after I eat, I can barely eat anything at the moment without getting an upset stomach, I constantly feel sick (Which I mistake for hunger), I am always coughing up flem, I always have coughing fits after eating, and so on.

I have seen a doctor and had various blood tests (Cholesterol came back at 7 but told this is fine) and ultrasound but they always come back fine (apart from one I had a few years ago which side I had a slight fatty liver, but was told this is fine). The doctor now does not want to send me for any other tests and has just said it is a pulled muscle, they have not given me any other advice just said to take paracetamol. Which I do and they never help.

Just wondering if anyone has gone through the same thing? It is driving me insane, I am in terrible pain with it but now feel like I burden keep going back and forth to the doctors to get no help and made to feel it is all in my head.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I would definitely not be fobbed off with paracetamol, I would ask to get a cat scan, this now seems the norm to send folk away with out doing more thorough tests, paracetamol they are having a laugh! Or perhaps you need to ask to see a gastrointestinal specialist, and perhaps a camera procedure down your throat, you could have an ulcer, or suffering with the h pylori gut bug, all treatable with a course of antibiotics, perhaps take someone with you to the doctors as a chaperone and be a little more forceful, it's your health here that's been affected, there are lots of reasons why you maybe in pain and to be honest I don't think common a garden paracetamol will help, an ulcer causes the pain to come on in like a wave sensation, it builds up and builds up and burping may relive the pain for a few minutes, and a constant feel of hunger is always with you, as for the flem that may have to be dealt with separately, unfortunately all specialists have their own fields and it's unfortunate that doctors can't be like a general house builder where they know no most things, but even then they have to get plumbers or electricians in to do certain jobs, the flem will probably tickling your tonsils and that will set the coughing off, so it's in your best interest to seek further advice, sorry its not a perfect answer or a solution, but a bit of moral support will get the answers that you need, good luck.

You have all my sympathy and empathy as I have endured the same pain scenario for 12 long years. I had a work accident where the right side of my throat was fractured.

However due to medical incompetence was never diagnosed until 2 years later but left untreated and undisclosed to this day.

I have ct scans and barium swallow xrays that blatantly image my internal injuries but are never acknowledged and I am consistently informed that the diagnosis is NAD

Some days I am crippled by the pain that in the last year has started to affect all areas of my daily living

I have asked multiple times for a pain intervention but like you were offered paracetamolor or codeine.

Sometimes I think I will go completely mad with the 24/7 pain and nobody will help me.

It is not a good place to be but now I know we are both there I will say a prayer for both of us as when one is devoid of all human help only God can help

See a chiropractor. They may be able to help.

See a McTimony chiropractor. You need someone who can give an opinion that you can use to persuade a doctor who probably thinks you are a hypochondriac. Many on painconcern have been where you are.

MRI scans look at tissue relationships. However, MRI scans are not good on issues of over contracted muscles. Hence the suggestion you see a chiropractor. They are hands on specialists. This is in comparison to medical professionals who have very little understanding on how muscle behaviour can affect pain and discomfort.

The opinion from a chiropractor could indicate that you need an MRI scan. The sooner you see a chiropractor the better. As a non medically trained person I have suspicion of something that may have no substance for that opinion. I have picked up information over the years using Dr Google hence the suspicion.
