Hello. I hurt my back last Monday.. I could not stand, walk or sit. I went to the emergency room, nothing broken, they gave me a pain killer, and 2 other shots and sent me home. I hardly made it up the stairs. I could not walk st all for the next 2 days, my body is lopsided, but I can now walk a little bit. Still in severe pain though, specially when I sleep and try and get up on the morning. I’m taking muscle relaxers and pain killers. Doctor says it’s muscle spasms, I gave not had MRI . If it is muscle spasms, how long before I can walk normal again???? It’s been 6 days and I’m still in pain!!!!!
SEVERE BACK INJURY: Hello. I hurt my back last... - Pain Concern
SEVERE BACK INJURY
How long is a piece of string? Sorry for the flippancy. This is what you are asking.
Severe bruising and swelling will apply pressure on nerves resulting pain and muscle spasms. You have no bones broken and nothing major. You could have damaged ligaments from the swelling and slightly misplaced vertebrate. You need an MRI to determine this.
Chiropractic can do nothing at this point of time because of tissue issues. I am not a medical expert so I do not know at what point you need to get treatment and at what point treatment is a variable option. Contact a sports therapist. They will know answers to the questions you need to ask. This is age related as well. Older people take longer to heal in comparison to a younger person.
If it goes on for weeks ask for an MRI, I had lopsided a alignment, I have osteoporosis but recently found out I have 3 lesions on my head having further tests, you have to keep bothering your dr or get a better one you have to tell them how you feel everyday it's taken me 18 years to get several tests so I know how you feel, I think I've sprained my back and it's been 6 weeks, I can walk a little but the pain with getting up and down is so excruciating, keep strong😁
I would try a sports physiotherapist as suggested by Johnsmith. I did my back in a few months ago and was in agony. I saw a sports physiotherapist and she was awesome. I had 2 treatments and within a week was fine again.
Thank you for the advice. I’ll most definitely look into that
