Reducing prednisolone dose

I'm on a weaning dose of prednisolone for PMR. I should be reducing by 1 mg soon but find I'm very stiff each morning and this takes about four hours to ease. Should I stay on the present dose, reduce and hope for the best or go back to the previous dose before this current one. Advice and experience warmly welcomed. Thanks.

As with any meds you are coming off the same advice applies.

If you are struggling go back up to the previous dose. Maybe stay on that for a little longer before reducing again.

Many thanks Bananas5. I'm going to return to the previous dose and see how it goes.

Only if you have been told by your GPS to reduce your dose, and if you feel that things are changing for the worse make another appointment, they definitely help with numerous conditions, I had ulcerative colitis many years ago and I was so thankful that these tablets existed,as they are steroids and my symptoms eased off I gradually reduced the dosage as stated by my doctor, I've heard stories that they can cause skeletal problems in later life, well rest assured I have no problem with my joints or bones, but most of all if they are helping you with your condition that's the important thing that matters, thanks.
