Waiting time for post op check up

Hi, I had a spinal operation at the end of June and was due to have a post op consultation at the beginning of September. This date has been changed 3 times and now it's booked for beginning of December. As it's a post op appointment I would have thought that it was important to ensure that everything was as it should be so it concerns me that, at the moment at least, I won't know till 6 months after the operation. My question is "Is this usual?"

Fraid so...this is quite usual these days.

You can always ask for a cancellation but would have to be available at very short notice.

If you are experiencing any problems post op then by all means tell them. You might get an earlier apt.

Hi I didn't get a follow up appointment for 4 YEARS! However if I had any pain or adverse symptoms I'm sure they'll see you. Good luck.

I just had a very successful spine operation because I had a herniated disc and was immediately admitted after a year of pain. My surgeon told me if I had any pain come back I was to contact his office immediately not my doctor so I can only think that if you have had no experience of pain don't worry about a post check. Are you uk

If you're in no pain there shouldn't be any problem. If you start getting pain phone the surgeons secretary and get an appointment. Do you live in the lakes?
