Apparently medical cannabis is going to be legalised soon, I read in a paper yesterday

I’m not sure how true it is or when it will be implanted or who it will be for but it’s a huge step in the right direction for us as all is chronic pain sufferers

Sajid Javid the Home Secretary said the use of 'Cannabis products'....which may just mean CBD on prescription for those the gov decide are most needy.

This will undoubtedly include MS patients thankfully.

I thought medicinal cannabis (sativex?) was already available in uk to people with MS, parkinsons and some terminal cancers (but not to others). I may have dreamt that!

All CBD products were made legal last year (to buy) now they are making it available on the NHS so it’s a little different x

Yes I use cbd but medicinal cannabis has some thc in it doesn't it? Which is why it works better as a pain reliever presumably. Although it sounds like they are planning on prescribing it more as an anti spasm drug for MS and as an anti seizure drug for epilepsy specifically. Not sure they are planning on prescribing it en masse for pain relief.

No definitely not, they will have a test group of people they use it on first I imagine and then go from there. I’m hoping next year it will be available to me as I get a huge relief off of it.

I’m not sure how they will do it tbh but if they are doing it for maximum pain relief I imagine it will have a high CBD and low THC like the medical cannabis seeds you can buy

Will have to wait and see I guess. Don't think they have publicly acknowledged it's benefits for pain relief yet so depends what research they decide to do/publish.

I'm pleased people with epilepsy may benefit from this anyway.

Itsallinthehips in reply tojpain

Yeah and hopefully sick children and cancer patients and people with Parkinson’s etc as I know it will be hugely beneficial for them.

To be honest anyone with chronic prolonged pain that has tried either medical or normal cannabis will tell you it’s helped them in some way

I’m sure 90% of them would at the very least

jpain profile image
jpain in reply toItsallinthehips

Yes I don't doubt it. But whether or not the government choose to acknowledge that is another matter. Anyway, fingers crossed!

It would be a huge money venture for them I don’t understand why they can’t see that even if they don’t see that it helps people lol, yeah fingers crossed we will know soon enough

Unfortunatley i think it will only b for epilepsy( severe case) ms and parkinsons, cancer thing that is proven to help and if it severe firstly then may monitor it and then bring it in for minor problems.

It shame as i get mine from netherlands and it is great stuff, i have it for back pain and hyper mobility syndrome. It shame i have to spend about 100 quid a month on it....

I went through problems and he suggested things and gave me a try and i went back day after so impressed i brought some and brought it home( customs didnt bat eyelids was bit worried but it is legal )so was ok and they gave me a site where they get all there produce and i now get it straight from them.

CBD.sense.com.

I get the 25% 2500mg 10ml pipette at 60£ and i also buy a tea.

I found the site but it is only CDB oil which you can get anywhere.

Yeah I couldn’t see anything different and it’s quite expensive, but then again I’ve not found the CBD products available atm helpful

The problem I have heard about this is the cannabis is made in a lab, still made by the pharmaceutical companies and is not natural, so my understanding of it is that it's has bad as normal pain tablets. I may be wrong but that's what I've heard.

in reply to

The NHS have had a pharmaceutical version of it for years already, they just don't use it often for whatever reason.

Let's see what they come out with in October.

Itsallinthehips profile image
Itsallinthehips in reply to

Yeah but that means they have tweaked the strains to be more beneficial, so like a higher CBD level and with a smaller THC level, just like some of the seeds you can already buy here in the uk

Itsallinthehips profile image
Itsallinthehips in reply to

Plus it can’t be worse than taking a lot of different types of morphine all day everyday lol

Hey

I used to work in a very secret lab that was growing medical cannabis over 10 years ago.

Yes it is made by medical technicians as they are continuously testing this and trying to grow the best strain of cannabis as they cannot just give it out without being fda tested .

So u would get the best for ur need.

If u want the proper grown stuff from a actual marijuana farmer u need to buy from places like netherlands or a few places in England now.

Cbdsense.com is netherlands

Cbdbrother is a good uk based one.

Obviously u will pay for them not nhs.

Even when the NHS actually start prescribing the med cbd it will only go to extreme cases as they wont want everyone becoming to reliant on that and they know some people will take advantage.

The CBD stuff doesn’t work for my pain but CBD and THC strains do , Once we can legally talk about all this on here it will be a lot easier to say what I’ve had help me and what hasn’t when it comes to this etc
