Hello All. I just wanted to say hello, introduce myself, and get to know you fine folks here at Health Unlocked. I'm hoping to make some good friends here that truly understands the toll that chronic pain, and other medical issues take on us both mentally, and physically. I joined Health Unlocked in March while searching for answers to several problems that I've been having for quite some time now that the doctor's have not figured out the causes of as of yet. I've found some of the answers to some of my questions here already, but some I'm still searching for, so I'm sure I'll be asking several questions a long the way.

I am a 53 yr old disabled female who use to be a RN, but the constant daily chronic pain, etc. that I experience has long since shot that career, as well as, the good times in life, all to heck.

Some of my diagnoses are hypothyroidism, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety Depression, Chronic Pain Syndrome, CAD, CVD, PAD, PVD, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, severe carpal tunnel in both hands, COPD, all the large muscles are torn on one side of my back and in my rib area on that same side, permanent nerve damage in my neck, and my back, Ankylosing spondylitis and facet overgrowth in my spine, atherosclerosis, DDD, blockages in both carotid arteries, varicose veins, tendonitis/bursitis and joint deterioration in both my shoulders, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, etc.

I have had 38 surgeries so far, (I have 4 more surgeries that are needed at this time but I continue to put those off because I'm not sure how much more I can physically, or mentally take because both my mind, and my body are both shot). I have an implanted Pain pump that has Dilaudid and Bupivacaine in it, and take several oral medications to treat my chronic pain, and other diagnoses. I am 99.9% sure that I have undiagnosed EDS, and both myself, as well as my Rheumy, believe I have RA also, but so far all the tests to confirm this has come back negative, so we keep searching for the proof, and the answers).

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and to say that it is nice to meet you all. So far this site, and its members has been a true blessing in helping answer some of the questions I had.

Since I have so many different medical issues, and been through many surgeries, etc, perhaps my experiences may be able to help someone else answer their questions too. So, if there is any questions you have for me don't hesitate to ask. We are all in the same boat here, and having someone to talk to who really understands helps so much.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, and hopefully pain free day!

Hello Crackerjack4u and welcome on board.

Quite a list!!!

See you have joined the fibro site as well. Lovely bunch over there...from kniting to shoes and everything which can help members.

My husband was RN too many many years ago but was medically discharged after an accident at sea broke his back. He has AS too now which is probably more painful than the break.

x

PS I am the noisy one here!

Hello Bananas5, it's nice to meet you. LOL on the "noisy one" comment. I'm sorry to hear about your hubby. I know giving up the career he worked so had for had to be difficult on him.

I've mostly only read other people's posts in the Fibro forum so far, and made a couple of comments in regards to their posts. I look forward to meeting people from various different forums. Again it was nice to meet you. I hope you have a nice day!

Thank you Nashville90 for the reply. I've tried Turmeric in pill form before without a lot of relief, but have never tried it the way you suggested so I might give it a try. As far as the cannabis oil, with me being in pain management, I can't use it without violating my contract.

So very sorry. I'm 62, been in severe pain for way over ten years, I don't even want to think about how long. Lost my job 2 years ago, fighting to get my private policy insurer to pay me. I don't have answers for you. God has made life very difficult for some of us and I will welcome sometime being in His presence, pain free. As for this world, we have the misfortune of not being born far enough into the future for the doctors to figure out the sources of all our suffering. I can handle it when my pain is 5 or 6, but it's very difficult when the pain is at 8 or 9.

fazsha I'm so sorry that you are going through all that. I so agree that those days when the pain levels hit, like you said, above a 6 or 7, it's nearly impossible to focus on anything but the pain. It would be wonderful if there was a magic cure for all of us who are suffering this way, but until then we just have to rely on what is available to us, and seek support and friendships with those who truly understand. Together we can get through this one day, one hour, or one minute at a time, and here's hoping that tomorrow is a better day then today for all of us.
