Amitriptyline withdrawal

Tried to be phased off them, less sleep to start with when I was off them all together no sleep at all for a week, ended down the emergency Doctors. He said for god sake start taking them again before you die, they got a car to take down to a pharmacy and got some Amitriptyline and then took me home so I could take some and go to bed. That was 5 years ago and I'm still taking them now so be very careful.

What’s your reason for using amitriptyilne in the first place and what’s your reason for withdrawing off it?

I take amitriptyline as a muscle relaxer for fibromyalgia

hi, I am reducing this medication. I was on 50mg at night for nerve pain. I have been on it about 3 years. I have to come off it because it is giving me palpitations. my doctor reduces me by 10mg every 2 weeks. I am now down to 20mg. the side effects for me have been reduced sleep, headache and feeling dizzy. I am also getting my nerve pain back in my neck and pins and needles in my hand. hope you go on ok x

dillydally, any luck coming off of it 10 months later? Were you able to recover your sleep? I came off about 3 months ago and still struggling to get a good nights rest. Thanks!
