My goddaughter got this poor thing, the tablets work great and the one you take in two weeks is only an extra one to take just in case there is a chance the first one didn’t.

The tablet should work very quickly and you won’t even know about it. However I understand the can’t stop thinking about it it can’t be nice for you :(

Can I ask what symptoms you had? With my goddaughter she started going crazy and becoming very angry and upset for no reason for a few days and then when I changed her bum I could see it in her nappy poor thing.

I hope you feel better soon x

Hi thanks for your reply, I feel sorry for your goddaughter it's not a very nice thing at all! I know it's more common in children then adults, I'm 21 and I've no idea how I've got it! My hygiene is spot on! And I didn't really have any symtoms, I just felt like I needed to go to the toilet when I didn't, also with some pressure. But hopefully the tablets will work! And thank you x

It’s not always hygiene it can come from pork, just touching anything in a garden or pets I was shocked what you can actually get it from when I took her to the doctors and they said all of that lol.

It can happen to anyone don’t worry. The tablets are great . I hope your better soon xx

The tablets are very effective. Important to take the second one as it takes out any worms that were eggs at the time of the first dose.

Gut worms are very useful to prevent the body attacking the auto immune system. There is a theory that allergies and asthma etc have only come about since humans got rid of their" gut cargo" !

All the best.

Dear Kayley,

Please don't 'Upset' yourself, over a few worms....They have been With Us, since the beginning of time. That they are NOT 'heard of', as much now, is due to better Standards all round. That they still do 'Happen' is as inevitable, as the tide coming in or the Sunrise. It DOSN'T make you Unclean, Unwashed, Unhygienic or in any way a bad person! A friends of mine's Son, got these some years ago- the poor child was scratching his 'Bum' like Crazy. A short, three day, course of tablets and.....No more Trouble.

There is still, even in this 'Enlightened' age, a Stigma attached to 'Worms'. Pay it NO ATTENTION, none at all. Just make an appointment, with you Doctor, who won't 'Bat An Eyelid' (I promise) and take the tablets. (S)he will recommend the following, simply as a precaution, Don't share flannels/ towels, Wash your hands regularly, and try not to scratch! (this might be the hardest 'bit', especially at night).

Please do let us know, in a few days, that 'It's all over' will you.

Kindest wishes, once again don't worry,

AndrewT

We had great fun with thread worms when my son was little. We kept getting them all the time as they were doing the rounds at the day nursery. Their eggs can be anywhere, as others have said, we have been living with masses of different kinds of parasites, we evolved to live that way. We have them all over our body, but sometimes they get too much for us and that is where the tablet comes in.

And why did I say great fun? He used to drop his trousers were ever he was and shout 'Mum, I have another worm, take it away!"

It’s when they come out that’s unnerving. I had this when I was five years old... in a foreign country. In the Uk the treatment is spot on. Hopefully it will be an episode you will forget very soon....
