How much info do you have to provide? ....had thought i could return to work within the 7 days after my lateral spine nerve root block on 1 Feb. - tried ringing pain management last week and after a couple of attempts where i was re routed 3 times and redialled and still not thru to right dept. gave up!! Early this morning sleep not good still and twisted out of bed on my right buttock and OUCH pain was unreal...could hardly breathe and spent most of early morning walking about and trying to massage area. Due to return to work tomorrow but called G.P. and Receptionist said 'she can do a sick note' and get it signed for tomorrow...i said i wanted to talk to my g.p. he has evening surgery and she said he would probably ring me...PROBABLY...not very much reassurance...have taken all the meds that normally take but feel the injection hasn't worked and this 'twisting' has set off all pain again!! Very frustrated and miserable😟

I'd give the surgery another call before his evening session begins. If there's a problem with speaking to him tell them you'll have no alternative but to call 111. Good luck.

Hi,

I found it can take a few weeks for things to settle after the block. I suggest you take another week off and see how you get on. I hope it helps you.

Hi, hope you've found your coffee😊 had decided yesterday to take another week...i just can't sit for any length of time and still having that other side effect...wind...despite taking wind eze and drinking peppermint tea.....so just on that fact alone don't want colleagues to suffer! Hopefully nerve will settle down...
