I have Osteoarthritis in my neck this causes pain in my Neck, Shoulders, Arms and Hands. This I can accept but recently I have been getting a very bad pain down my right hand side down to my hip. It is bad when I first stand up, at first it takes me a couple of minutes to get upright. Could this be caused by my Osteoarthritis getting worse. On Saturday I was told to go home because it might upset the customers seeing me in pain.

Osteoarthritis
What do you mean by Osteoarthritis? Osteoarthritis diagnosis is often given after the medical consultant finds a list of symptoms present. This diagnosis then leads to a treatment regime that the medical consultant is familiar with. The treatment regime often does not enable the patient to improve the way they use their muscles and in fact ignores the way the patient has being using their muscles.

Osteoarthritis can develop in any joint, and can be progressive. I had a friend who was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and they just assumed that the pain in her hip was to do with that. Until they finally got round to another x-ray. In the five years since the first x-ray which was clear, she had developed OA in her hip and needed an urgent replacement!
So if your symptoms have changed the best thing to do is see your GP and find out why. It could be that you are carrying yourself different due to OA in other joints, such as the feet, knees or hips, or it could be something else.
