Did you have 300mg as a starting dose? That's very high to start with. It's good that you are on a lower dose now. I would build it up even slower if I were you (weeks/months instead of days)
Don't move to a higher dose before the symptoms have passed. Hope you feel better soon
Thank you for your advice will do it
The normal starting dose is 150mg in divided doses. Most people need at least a week, if not more on this dose.
If you are on gabapentin they will usually start you on a higher dose.
I'm confused why you were lowered for 2 days and then increased. Why do you feel horrible? Did you feel better on the lower dose... If so why not ask to remain longer on the lower dose ?
I have been taking pregabablin (Lyrica) intermittenly for 17 years after failed cervical spine surgery and resultant neuropathy. I have found that 75mg twice daily would take 3days to build up to an effective dose. Side effects include for me blurred vision, incoordination, dry mouth. Larger doses work quicker but with increased side effects. Taking a larger dose initially and then dropping down to 75mg twice daily seems to work well for me.
Have you had good pain relief and been able to stay on 75mg x2 as I'm am worried because there is a group on Facebook and they tell such terrible things about pregabalin the 75mg works ok for me it's just the fact they are saying you have to keep upping the dosage and I thought you must have good knowledge of this drug if you have taken it over 17years
I have not found that I developed any tolrtance to pregabablin. The 75mg dose has continued to work. If my pain is not bad I will cut down to one daily and resume twice daily if it gets bad again.I take an occasional Valium 10 mg as well. I was on oxycodone 10 yrs ago and developed a tolerance until I was up to 400mg a day and had to slowly wean off of that. The withdrawal was worse than the pain.
