Good day,my name is john am new here. For like 2 months now ,I have being having this pain on the top right of side ribs,I have done
several test and scan and was told my liver was inflamed due to excessive alcohol am 39yrs of age and I own a drinking bar ,I guess that is the source of my problem. I have totally stopped drinking alcohol for about 15days now but the pain is still there only when I sleep on my right side and some times the pain stretches to my back . Not sure what to do again and when is the pain going to stop. I will be happy if any experience or advice on this.

Well done on giving up the alcohol;. It is hard...one day at a time.
Some alcohol-related liver damage can be reversed if you stop drinking alcohol early enough in the disease process. Healing can begin as early as a few days to weeks after ceasing alcohol use, but if the damage is severe, healing can take several months.
It will be hard but yes, staying healthy and off the alcohol will help your liver recover, but that won't happen over night. There is another possibility though, ribs have lots of soft tissue holding them together and they can be 'sprained' like any other joint in the body. It could be possible that there is something like that going on too at the same time.
Have you ever heard of Hickam's dictum? Patients can have as many diseases as they damn well please!
