Have you been referred to a physiotherapist, and/or a Pain Clinic? If not, these can both be useful to you to address any underlying contributions to the pain and help you to manage it.

Sounds similar to me also, but I've had many tests. Although my symptoms caused me extreme difficulties many years ago but has now come back. But breathing always been an issue.

I’ve just been diagnosed with Costochondritis it’s fifth day of enduring this horrible pain! Scared to cough as it feels like my chest is about to snap I’m half can’t sleep flat, struggling to find good position to sleep in without the agony. Is this similar to your chest pain? Hope yours improves soon

Ive been having this pain for over a month now Doctors dignosed me over phone, Ive been using fenbid gel which is iburofen . I stopped doing my exercises and things did seem to be getting better, then over a week ago i lifted some heavy bags and now its back again. I do a bit of running to and ive found when i run i need to hold my breast and presson my chest wall. It is worrying me cause ive had it so long and cause it seems to have got worse again

I have suffered with costochondritis for 18 months on and off. Pain in chest and sides of ribs. Hurts more when pressure on rib. Does come and go. Nothing to worry about just an annoyance .

“Costochondritis” A lazy diagnosis from my GP which my partner and I kind of guessed it was.

Was admitted to A&E in February suspected heart attack. ECG, Bloods and X-ray. All ok. Told to rest. Tried 2 different strength Naproxen did nothing finished the courses. Codeine/paracetamol Strongest available on prescription work for a short period. Still currently taking 6+ Months.

Been to see a rheumatologist he referred me for and MRI. Inflammation to Ribs and chest area detected. Referred to pain clinic for injections and also a physiotherapist. But when I was first diagnosed with this I requested all this with my GP from day 1! Waiting lists on the NHS are a joke so had to use my Bupa healthcare for the above. Now all the funds have been used I don’t know what to do. I’ve been on sick leave since February.

Lately the pain has been unbearable sides, back and chest almost like there’s been no improvement it’s just got worse. My partner has been unbelievable as I’ve been unable to help with pretty much everything. The whose experience has been scary, stressful, uncertain, angry and sad. I’ve developed an anxiety over this problem too constantly thinking am I going to die!?

I’d like to know how others solved there issues? Types of pain? Types of treatment?

Same I've had this for 4 weeks and They first told me I had pneumonia and I had to take 5 days of antibiotics, then they told me I have bronchitis, then they prescribed me 10 more days of antibiotics and now this I'm scared I don't know what to do anymore I've been so many times to the hospital This is the first time I've experienced this, and I'm only 16, and I'm scared to sleep the pain just worsens when I lay down or when I move

I had my first chest pain 2 weeks ago. Doc gave me ecg and blood tests, all OK. Thing is it started 2 wks in after I began jogging . The pain started in the middle of my back in the spine area, then spread across my ribs to the front , below my chest plate. The pain was excruciating. Having rested the pain in my back has eased significantly and like others I seem to feel the pain in my chest when I lie down. I guess time will tell further on down , now I can resume jogging again.

I’m in a very similar situation. I’ve had these damn chest pains for over a year now. I’ve been to A&E several times and each time I’m told nothings wrong and the last time I went the doctor literally told me”stop worrying about your health and need to get on with it”. Now I’m scared to go to A&E for anything because I feel like I’m just waisting their time. Cardiologist have said it’s not heart related after a stress test. ECG, X-rays and bloods are always fine. Doctor thinks it gastro related… I’m still not convinced and very worried I’m just going to die one day

Hi,I'm 22 and I've been diagnosed with Costochondritis but I've been getting these sharp, suffocating pains for over 7 years on and off. Apparently this condition isn't long term and not harmful but my chest and medical history would beg to differ. I've had multiple ECG's, blood tests, blood pressure, breathing tests, everything but an xray and it's still an issue. Sometimes the pain gets so bad, it throws me into a panic attack. Im not sure how much I can trust the nurses and medicine I'm given if this "short term" condition persists. Hot yoga was the most helpful activity I did but there isn't one near me so if anyone else wants to give it a go, make sure you take it easy, dont push yourself and remember to take breaks if you need.
