The last 3 days i’ve been in absolute agony. The left side of my chest, the corresponding area on my back, my shoulders and the left side of my lower abdomen have been the culprits of this pain. Both of my legs are always going numb when in the same position for more than a few minutes.
I’ve been unable to do most of my usual activities but I went to work yesterday and woke up this morning in excruciating pain, I can barely stand and breathing is so painful.
I’ve had unexplained chest pain before that I have gone to a&e with but been sent home as I am 17 and they didn’t want to investigate at i’m “to young to have any heart problems”. I called my Drs but they refuse to deal with me unless a&e refer me back to them due to the intensity of the chest pain, as well as not having an ECG machine on site.
I don’t know what to do, i’m up all night in so much pain and the little sleep I do get means i’m in positions putting pressure on my chest which makes it worse when I wake up. I know I need to see a healthcare professional but so upset that i’m always turned away even when i’m in tears begging for help.
What can I do please I need someone to listen?
If it is related at all, my mum has Lupus.
Thankyou in advance,
Ros.

That's disgusting the way you have been treated. Keep going to a and e until they listen. Is there a different Dr you could see at your group practice? He could have got you admitted and surely they would check you out then!! Could you take someone with you to be your advocate? It really does help having someone else there who can speak for you if you start to get upset. Sending lots of healing hugs your way Lynne xxxx
Thank you so much for your reply. I’m going to go to Drs and try to get a referral. At the moment I feel too unwell to be in a&e for hours to be told to just go home after all the waiting. Hopefully someone will listen and help me find a solution to this problem. Thank you for your compassion Lynne xx
I went to a&e and was there for 9hours from midnight to 9am. Night shift Drs were ignoring me and mistakenly gave me two doses of Oramorph which made me violently sick making chest pain worse. Dismissed me and said it might be costochondritis & prescribed co-codamol which I told him doesn’t help the pain. He told me to speak to Drs and get tested for lupus due to rash and pains all over. Hopefully my Dr will see me & i’ll get some answers. How you are taking care yourself, Ros x
See a chiropractor. There can be chiropractic reasons for your agony rather than heart problems. The chiropractor can give a valuable second opinion useful for the possible legal action. As you are under 18 there are issues involved that would not be there if over 18.
You say you are working. Speak to your Boss and ask them if they know who you can see in this situation. If the company you are working for is large enough they will have a human resources department. I don't know your working situation so I may have given bad advice here.
I was given co-codamol and that’s all. my gps waiting list is very long and the one appointment i did get wasn’t thorough. keep being told it’s costochondritis but i know it isn’t
