Hi Shannon, lower back pain can have many causes, so try not to think it has to be cancer. The best thing you can do is make an appointment to see your GP who will be able to hopefully reassure you, and find the cause of your back pain. The worry and anxiety you're feeling could well be causing the headaches, so do make that appointment, and tell the doctor you're worries. My best wishes to you x

Try not to worry as has been said this will cause headaches , your doctor knows about the headaches and has not ordered any tests. did you tell the doctor that you have back pain.? iv got pain at the bottom of my spine and its sciatica. i'v got to keep doing stretches and put heat bags on it. have you tried a hot water bottle or a heat bag? im just wondering if you think the worst any time that you have an ailment as this could be some kind of anxiety that you have. all the best love grace xoxoxo

Don't worry I have lower back pain that stops me working it can be that painful and also spondylitis further up the spine that causes very tight neck and shoulder muscles. I also get blinding headaches too. Sometimes our minds get confused with the pain and we worry about the worst, in my experience it's the people who haven't had extreme pain find unfortunately it's them, this has happened to a friend very recently no pain nothing just a tingly throat. Please don't worry if you are that worried spend your energy on contacting your doctor, nobody is a doctor on here we can only help by listening, referring to our situations etc. I am trying to be helpful by saying see your doctor if he won't do anything see another I'm sure you have more than one at your practice! I hope everything goes ok, best wishes Frank D.

Why do you think it is cancer ?

People are suffering and dying and you think to post on here about a lower back pain.

Sounds like anxiety.

An ignorant response coupled with a huge amount of insensitivity particularly from someone who has only been here for two days for pity's sake.

Scroll up and read the banner. It says 'Pain Concern' does it not?

I think you owe the OP an apology for your insensitivity. SMH.

Wow... how sad that you feel the need to make someone who is seeking help, advice and reassurance even more stressed by your uncalled for and inconsiderate rude post!! Some people DO tend to worry and think the worst when it comes to health issues. That is why there is forums such as THIS to help others that are suffering or struggling with health problems that other people have experienced or they are also going through. If you can Not find it in yourself to give words of encouragement or find you can Not help THEN DON'T POST AT ALL.. NEGATIVE COMMENTS SUCH AS YOURS IS UNCALLED FOR. This is about helping and supporting others in whatever way you can. It is not about making people feel worse. AND THIS IS COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO IS GOING THROUGH CANCER FOR THE 2ND TIME. Yet I see no problem in her post what so ever. I see a person obviously worried and in need of help and advice and reassurance from the helpful, caring people on here that has probably felt they needed help and support at some point in their life. I guess think before you respond and if you have nothing helpful or positive to say then remaining silent would be the best way you can help. One day it could be your in anyone's situation on here.

But it could be hundreds of things cancer extremely unlikely. How can anyone tell you what it is or isn't ?

So because a 20 year old has back pain she thinks she has cancer.

Can I suggest you distract yourself, focus on work / college or uni during the day. Study, socialise with friends etc during the evening where possible. But don't google things.

Ask your Dr if she thinks you have cancer - listen to the professional and live your life.

Hi Irish dance yes we can all tell her to ask her Dr as a few of us have, but have some compassion she maybe only 20yrs but is it not up to her peers to help ease the worry even if only a tiny bit? Well for one i would be lost without these forums NOT having a family member to talk these things thru isn't easy and maybe that is why shannon97 came onto forum give her the chance to speak and to let others help!

Look through her posts - the lady needs help with her health anxiety. I I really hope she does, because anxiety of any form is horrific. I am trying to reassure her - we don't need posts like yours. If people say well it may be cancer, or its unlikely but could be... imagine how she feels.

You're trying to "reassure her"? You've got a very questionable way of doing it irishdance. Also "WE" DO indeed need post's like Shooby's ... what "WE" don't in fact need is reponses of the insensitive and beligerant type that elicit hurt and anguish.

By the way, since you're very new here, have you by any chance read the site's TOU? If not, I suggest you do so.

Shannon, please DO keep posting. It's for your own benefit after all. Don't allow one icky reply cloud your judgement please.

This is a good forum with lovely, sensitive, empathetic and compassionate folks who are more than happy to assist in any way they can.

Best wishes.

I've got ddd. The spine wears out and it starts pressing on nerves. Depending on which nerves it can cause all sorts of problems. Mine is sciatica and back pain. Best to seek a spine doctor or request to see one and make sure of what's going on. Make sure doctor has good reviews online. I've got really duds for spine doctors

Looking through your posts you say you have health anxiety. I think there is the place to start. Counselling / CBT etc.
