Experience of Lumber puncture please. I had projectile vomiting, dizzy loss of balance and staggering headaches. 2 weeks of pure bed rest loads better but still with mild headaches...
Lumber puncture.: Experience of Lumber puncture... - Pain Concern
Lumber puncture.
I do sympathise with you. That does sound horrible. You don't mention why it was performed and what result was discovered.
I know that your after effects sound worse and longer than mine.
I suspect that it was due to an infection that the Spinal confirmed. Only a guess.
Mine was done because of suspected viral meningitis. That is what caused the blinding headaches, vomiting, total intolerance to light.

I was admitted with the mother of all headaches. Bleed on the brain was suspected. After scans showed nothing I had the lumber puncture to take spinal fluid. Some protein found but not conclusively blood. Then an MRSA scan which showed nothing. Inconclusive. The reaction to the lumber puncture happened a week or so later. Better now (3 weeks later) but still a mild headache! Thanks for replying!
I'm very sad to say but I've had two, one in the Army and another in civil street after I had meningitis and the pains were excruciating, for me anyway but other maybe they didn't get hurt. Sorry.
I had those symptoms which turned out to a problem associated with LP called a low preasure headache. It happens when the loss of spinal fluid lowers the preasure of the fluid surrounding and protecting the brain. Mine was the result of a trainee not realising they had hit my spinal cord several times causing leakage.
